How could we improve Pillow?

  1. Need vibrations Apple Watch

    it is much muy easier and quiet to wake up with vibrations in most of the times for not disturbing others. it’s even more comestible and efficient most of the times i guess. so i suggest a variety of different options of vibrations, in my preference for the apple watch. with an option that make you sure that there will be no sounds that may disturb.

      Hello! Vibrations on the Apple Watch as an alarm is not possible at the moment due to restrictions imposed by watchOS. Only the native Alarms app can use haptic feedback as an alarm. Hopefully those restrictions will go away in future versions of the Apple Watch or watchOS

      I’ve used a couple of apps where I can edit sleep/wake times when I’ve forgotten to press wake up - rather than having 15+hours of awake data ruining my sleep log, I can crop the awake time away. Would be great to have that feature here too.

        There is lots of good data.. however, is the % I'm awake good? Bad? To me, this is like saying you have 42 bugs in your software... is it good? Bad? Can the app use big data or AI to interpret the data and give more actionable or interpreted feedback?

        • Details of sleeping time

          I would like to know sleeping “time”, but not percent.
          For example, “REM 40m”, “Deep sleep 1h” and so on, not “REM 10%”, “Deep sleep 27%”.
          Because I would like to know if I could keep a constant deep sleeping "time".

                At least once or twice a week the sleep graph shows that I was awake in the middle of the night for 30-60 minutes or more, when I was not.

                I may have tossed and turned a few times, but I was not awake, and certainly not for an hour.

                So if the app recorded that you were awake from 2:15am to 2:50am, but you were asleep, you can fix that error. Likewise, if the app thought you were asleep but you got up to go to the bathroom at 3:30am for 5 minutes, you can fix that too.

                • Auto sleep/wake detection with auto stop/start.

                  Automatic session stop when you get out of bed and start walking around for a period of time (longer than I takes to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night), so if you forget to stop a session it doesn't keep recording for hours, adding wake time to your sleep stats. Also, if you stop a session in the morning, then fall back asleep, it would be great if Pillow could detect this and resume sleep recording.

                    Fully automatic sleep detection and tracking using the Apple Watch or any other wearable that provides heart rate data and steps along with other metrics, is on our roadmap for the near future. We also add the ability to edit and merge sleep sessions so that will handle the use cases you mention :)

                  • Track where you sleep - in Hotels or at Friends

                    Sleeping is different in Hotels/Places, especially if one travels a lot. It will be interesting to know how sleep varies in different Places. Use the GPS to detect if you sleep at home. If not, offer a list of nearby Hotels or other custom places to select from. Then offer analysis for every place where you might sleep.

                      Often, when I can't sleep, I get up out of bed. This unfortunately causes the app to register this as R.E.M. sleep since there are no sounds. It would be really cool to have an "out of bed" button that either keeps it as 'awake' or even have another band above wake for 'out of bed'.

                        We working on a major update that will introduce an improved and much more accurate way to detect and analyse sleep, including the ability to manually set “Awake” periods during the night.

                      • Manually edit sleep times

                        Let me manually correct my sleeping data (ie add sleep when forgotten to activate when going to bed or forgotten to stop in the morning)

                          Editing the duration of existing sleep sessions is going to be available on the upcoming update. We are also working on automatic sleep detection so adding new sleep sessions won’t be needed because you won’t have to tap a button to start the session. Thank you for your patience!

                        • Use machine learning to give advice based on tags

                          Tagging each session with "drank wine", "ate late", "have had a nap", "took vitamin D" etc. is of no use if one cannot process the data. Most of us can't and would love the app to do that for us.

                          It could look like this: "When using tag x you seem to sleep 34 minute shorter than you normal Wednesday."

                          "When using tag z and y you increase the quality of sleep, but not when you use each tag by themselves."

                            As average sleep stage durations are closely linked to age/sex, it would be helpful for a report of stages against peers The current report/FAQ guidelines are far too general to be helpful.

                              I would like to have the ability to Tag Sleep Factors -- *NotMyBed, *DifferentTimeZone, *Stress, *BodyPain, *Medication, etc -- so that I can determine Trends that Impact Sleep Quality.

                              I've written about this on this On the app review & Twitter conversation before the purchase; I was told that "Notes" provided this feature but it Does Not. I've now bought an app based on information that is Not Accurate.

                              • Complete Dark Mode for OLED Display

                                For the iPhone X, it will be having an OLED display where you can make the black pixels be completely turned off.

                                Can you make a theme that’s total black except the controls and time for when you activate the sleep alarm? It would be great as a nightstand clock and would reduce battery usage.

                                  With iPhone 8, 8+, and X all having wireless charging capabilities, I suggest that the phone would turn off the screen when placed screen up on a charging pad while in a sleep session just like it does when placed down and plugged in. This would make charging using a wireless charging mat overnight possible which would have the potential of greatly increasing the lifespan of the battery.

                                          i use music when i go to sleep or even sleep aid but i can’t play it out loud because i have other people living in the house so i use ear buds. Usually my ear buds fall out while i’m asleep and i can’t hear my alarm when it goes off.
