How could we improve Pillow?

      • Support for iOS 12 Shortcuts

        Would love to be able to create a shortcut that started sleep tracking with predefined settings then did other things like turned off all the lights and enabled DND.

          Hello! Support for iOS 12 Shortcuts is already in the works and will be available in the next major update of Pillow. Thank you for your patience.

        • Manually edit data of sleep (Not only beginning and end)

          Although I put my mic sensibility in "low", sometimes Pillow will record long periods of "awake" in the middle of the night even if I'm 100% confident I was asleep.
          It would be GREAT if we could manually edit that data in the morning, to gain more accuracy when the technology fails a little.
          Be able to select those periods and change the "awake" for "light sleep", for instance. Etc.

          • Better cooperation with Apple Screen Time

            In iOS 12 with the new Screen Time feature, using the manual mode of Pillow throws off statistics because the phone has to be on for several hours in the app. It would be nice if Pillow could be excluded from Screen Time (or some other adjustment like that), so it doesn't skew all the numbers and information.

            • Need vibrations Apple Watch

              it is much muy easier and quiet to wake up with vibrations in most of the times for not disturbing others. it’s even more comestible and efficient most of the times i guess. so i suggest a variety of different options of vibrations, in my preference for the apple watch. with an option that make you sure that there will be no sounds that may disturb.

              • Optimal wakeup based on sleep schedules

                It'd be great if I could select in Pillow's settings "wake me up at the optimal sleep cycle interval" and then identify the window (say 6-7:30am) in which I'd want Pillow to - relying on my sleep cycle data - detect an optimal time between cycles to wake me up. I've realized my alarms may disrupt deep sleep and then I can't fall back asleep and struggle to really wake up. It would be hugely helpful if Pillow could use the sleop cycle data to prompt users awake when they'd be most refreshed rather than disrupted.

                • Setup Recurring Smart Alarms

                  It would be nice if I could setup recurring smart alarms so that I could wake up, for example, at around 7 every Monday Wednesday and Friday and then maybe around 8:30 on Tuesday and Thursday. It is a bit of a hassle to change the time every night and I tend to also forgot so I sometimes wake up to my normal alarm that I set at those times as a backup, but I tend to get worse sleep due to the fact that it’s just a regular alarm that I wake up to.                   • exclude TV noise from audio

                    It would be nice if pillow could recognize a continuous amount of chatter that would indicate TV and not record a bunch of clips for while TV is on. Then, when the more or less continuous noise ceases (if the user has set a sleep timer or something), it can start picking noise up again.

                      • Auto-save session data if I accidentally close the app

                        Please consider updating the app to “auto save” if it is accidentally closed during a session.

                        I have accidentally exited the app (while closing other apps in the background) before ending my session. When I reopen it, the entire session is lost.

                        Is there a way to retain the data so it is not completely lost if the app is accidentally closed?

                          I think the softness or hardness of the mattress has a lot to do with sleep tracking.
                          Perhaps users should be asked to select the hardness or softness of the mattress within the APP to change the tracking system's sensitivity.

                          Like me, I used to sleep in a very soft simmons bed at school. At the time, tracking was fairly accurate and even a little too sensitive. But I'm at home sleeping on a hard palm tree mattress, so when I'm awake for a long time (just not getting up) , I was still considered that I'm in deep…

                          • Track "Symptoms" that Impact Sleep

                            I would like to have the ability to Tag Sleep Factors -- *NotMyBed, *DifferentTimeZone, *Stress, *BodyPain, *Medication, etc -- so that I can determine Trends that Impact Sleep Quality.

                            I've written about this on this On the app review & Twitter conversation before the purchase; I was told that "Notes" provided this feature but it Does Not. I've now bought an app based on information that is Not Accurate.

                            • Use machine learning to give advice based on tags

                              Tagging each session with "drank wine", "ate late", "have had a nap", "took vitamin D" etc. is of no use if one cannot process the data. Most of us can't and would love the app to do that for us.

                              It could look like this: "When using tag x you seem to sleep 34 minute shorter than you normal Wednesday."

                              "When using tag z and y you increase the quality of sleep, but not when you use each tag by themselves."

                                It would be great if you could export as PDF (besides the .csv).
                                In the PDF you can visualize the graphics as shown in the app per night.

                                For one night you see all the data collected:
                                - visual graphic of the sleep stages including heart rate
                                - visual bar of the sleep stages with underneath percentage AND time
                                - date
                                - start / end time
                                - total duration a sleep
                                - total duration in bed
                                - time to sleep
                                - sleep quality
                                - average heart rate per sleep stage
                                - # sound recordings
                                - wake-up mood
                                - notes

                                • Change alarm time without ending cycle

                                  Change alarm time without canceling sleep cycle. I’ve had mornings where the early plan changed overnight (snow day, flight delay, etc.) and I’d love to be able to go back to sleep with a delayed alarm without ending my sleep tracking cycle.

                                    Would be nice to also display the minutes for each sleep stage. For example as opposed to “20% REM” saying “20% REM (1 hr 30 min)”. The Fitbit app already has this.

                                    • Mark exactly where hours are on the graph

                                      It would be nice to know exactly where 11:00 am, 12:00 am, 1:00 am, 2:00 am, etc., are on the daily statistics graph. A little thin white line going up from the hour to its exact place on the graph (and 15 minute and 30 minutes lines in between the hour lines) would help immensely in seeing what time of the night you woke up or when you were in Rem. The way it is now, you have to guess at the time.
